April 18th, 2008

Ha. Re: last post, I’m being an annoying bitch and yes, you guessed it. I’m moving. Domains, not my actual self. In a very near future this domain will be offed and I can be found at good old motorcycle-emptiness.org.

I bought it again. Because I love it so.

I miss having motorcyle-emptiness.org. :(

It was quite possibly the best domain name liek-evah. Anywhere. Honestly.

The Shining
April 2nd, 2008

The title refers to a particular, very famous line from the movie The Shining. Which in my opinion was a good film, allthough it had very little to do with the Stephen King novel. Those of you who have read it and seen the film, will know what the hell I’m talking about. But yet again, I digress.

The line? All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Dude honestly, you wouldn’t think that sitting in backroom (hidden from Customers, since iz a mnoster, apparently), wearing my spanky!new!first-ever pinstripe pants, a hoody and a beanie,
looking bloody dashing (i do!) while repairing/trashing/installing computers would be hard work. But man, it seems to be. Don’t get me wrong. I like this very much, I’m learning new things practically every day and I truly feel that for once I’m actually glad that I chose nerd as my future career, back in the day when there were a fantastillion of choices.

It’s just that I have been out of work for a year. So one sort of gets used to the rhytmlessness (is that even a word? it is now) and thus it still is kinda tough to get up in the morning. But I’m getting there. And this is only for four months. Which means that at the end of June I’ll be rhythmless again. Unless I can find a job. You know, a real job.

But before all that there is about three months worth of this. And by this I mean not only the work, but the general feeling of blah when I get home. I have no interest in sitting at the pooter and turning it on, as much as I miss my online poepls. <3 Also I feel that my fantastic Real life sort of gets it too. Possibly I would have to suggest the idea of premeditated meetings with the Real Life friends.

I am already boring myself at this point. Jesus what a dull-ass I have become. Is this what it’s like to be a grown-up? Blaargh. I might also go nuts if I have to write with this keyboard much more. It sucks. Liek omg. *smash*

Exhaustion
February 29th, 2008

I had this long and angry entry about the current political situation in the world. This year’s first Angry Soapbox, so to speak.

Alas, a friend of mine faced a personal tragedy in a form of a break-up. From a loooong relationship. Which has sort of taken all of my time. Also I’m starting a traineeship in a local hardware store on Tuesday (if all goes well).

I’m mentally exhausted, because I have my limits of nodding and saying yes and I understand. I’m more of a doer than a thinker in things like this. If I’m faced with a pending move, I’m prone to make things happen, not sit on my hands and do nothing. Most of all I’m exhausted because there simply is nothing I can do to help. Sitting there and being there, I’m told, is how I am able to help the most. It’s just beginning to take it’s toll on me.

So y’all gonna have to wait a while longer for the Angry Soapboxer in me to have it’s entrance.

Sharks and airplanes and McDonalds, oh my!
February 11th, 2008

Two weeks ago me and Janne made a little road trip. For us Northern Finlanders about 1500 kilometers is a little road trip. Surprisingly enough, we went to visit Rei, who still resides in Tampere. This time we also had a plan to pop by in Helsinki to see the Avaruus 2007 (Space 2007) exhibition in the Aviation Museum. We also decided to make up for the fiasko last summer (during the trip i got very ill and ended up hatching antibiotics for infection in both ears), and go to SeaLife this time.

And so we did. Unfortunately the only camera we had with was Rei’s celly. Which luckily provides decent photos, unlike my crappy thing. Also oddly enough, there aren’t any pictures from the Space exhibition, nor the planes in the Aviation Museum. O_o Altho it doesn’t require much guessing which exhibition was my favourite: the fishies or the space/planes. Haha.

No, seriously, I found the planes better than the Space 2007 and the fishies better than the two of them combined. But I was rather fascinated by the planes. I guess the panic attack that hit me for some odd reason in the rather dark-ish exhibition room of the space things made the whole experience sort of flatten a little. Anyways. Here are some pictures from SeaLife. If you ever happen to stumble in Helsinki, I urge you to go and have a look at the place. It is marvellous.

This is a lionfish.
A plumpy (and very sleepy) seahorse.
Close-up on an undulate ray.
Not a car, but still a stingray.
Nasty looking creatures: piranhas.
No need to find Nemo. He’s here.

Also: cutest things ever! Two baby dogfish! <3 Alas, no picture of them. :(

I was very excited about SeaLife. Even clapped my hands together and jumped around a wee bit when strolling slowly in the tunnel that was under the huge shark aquarium. It was possibly the most exciting experience ever, to have blacktip reefsharks swim above my head.

Ok, enough about fish.

ps. Yea I know I’m a lousy blogger, but the previous layout was boring me to death and honestly I couldn’t be bothered about it. But this one, it took me about three hours to make. Three hours, of which I spent trying to dodge the sunray that was trying to make me go blind.
